Dying Eggs and Easter

What a great first Easter with the boys!!

We spent a lot of time reading a board book we have about Jesus and Easter. We talked about the first Easter when Jesus won over death and we would cheer, "Jesus wins!" We realize with their ages and the language the boys didn't grasp everything, but we wanted them to begin to recognize the words.

The Saturday before Easter we dyed eggs at Gramma and Bompa's house and the boys LOVED it! We explained to them that we would be "coloring eggs."

We wore our Ethiopian finest on Easter morning! (thanks Alison for taking the pictures!)

After church, the boys discovered the Easter baskets the Easter Bunny had brought. We think the boys understand that Easter is mostly about Jesus (we told them that is why the Easter Bunny picked that day), because as they looked through the baskets, they cried. "Thank you, Jesus!" They think Jesus brought the baskets!

Easter at Gramma and Bompa's where the boys received some spring presents! Ryan Ephrem will push this little wheel barrow around the block when John Eyob rides his bike.
